Sankranthi 2012 was a breeze for Mahesh Babu. Businessman had no competition. Bodyguard being a class entertainer, the new Mass Monarch of Tollywood walked away with biggest openings. But no, Sankranthi 2013 is not going to be cake walk for Prince. For he will have to slugfest with a resurgent NTR, with Box Office as the battleground.

Sukumar's untitled film and Sreenu Vytla's Baadshah will be released during the festive season. It is very likely that both will clash within the space of less than a week. Tollywood has not seen such a big contest in many seasons. While Sukumar has not made a single mass entertainer, his film with Mahesh Babu will undoubtedly see spectacular openings nevertheless. Unlike this one, Baadshah comes with the double advantage of being directed by Vytla, who is more popular with mass audience, and having NTR in its cast.

It is a foregone conclusion that Baadshah is a block buster movie, by which we mean that it bottles up elements that most sell at the BO. Much will depend on what Sukumar is showing this time.
